Cee My Nails! |
My name is Christine and this is my photo tumblr of all my experiments and experiences of my new current obsession with nail art in its various forms. All my photos featured are for personal use and feature my hands unless otherwise stated. |
Jelly Sandwich in a bottle take 2. This time its Maybelline Colorshow Polkadots in Shooting Stars. Same formula as Rainforest Canopy; sheer navy blue gel base with black and white monochrome multi sized glitter. This again was 3 coats for full coverage and double top-coated for extra protection/smoothing over.
Jelly Sandwich in a bottle. Maybelline Colorshow Polkadots in Rain Forest Canopy. Sheer Emerald Green Gel Base with Black and White Monochrome multi sized glitter. I love it. I think I might love it more than the L’Oreal Confetti Top Coat. This was 3 coats. Also double topcoated as this dried quite rough like a glitter.
Probably the best “freehand” nail art I’ve done. AND it turned out brilliant on both left and right hands! I’m so impressed with myself :-D
2 coats Models Own “Nude Beige” with 1 coat “Jack Frost” (photos don’t show the shimmer - sorry!) Set with Sally Hansen Insta Dri. Then using nail striping tape for the straight edges, triangles at the base done with 1 coat Maybelline Colorshow in Blackout. Finally two lines drawn freehand with Topshop Nails Nail Art Pen in Black. All coated with Sally Hansen Insta Dri.
Neon yellow! Models Own Luis Lemon from the Iced Neon collection. To really made this shade pop - I did 2 coats of Barry M Matte White as a base, then 2 coats of Luis Lemon on top as I found this was really sheer when applied straight to nails.
tried a “Jelly Sandwich” again today but will think again about layering with this particular combination! Colour is Rimmel London I heart Lasting Colour in “Sweet as Sugar” (light pastel baby blue) and glitter is a blue hex glitter by Chit Chat (from Poundland - no idea of name) The glitter was great but the colour was just that little bit too opaque to multi layer with. I should have done two base coats, then coat of glitter then covered with a layer of a sheer nude instead. Ah well. I kinda like it anyway in a weird non nail fail way. I might be tempted to re-do this before the weekend.
Orange Nails! Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish in Bright Orange.
Neon Crackling! Models Own “Hedonist” from the Hed Kandi collection topped with Barry M Purple Crackle.
Old Mani - MUA “Frozen Yoghurt” with 1 coat of Models Own “Sunset Chillout” from the Hed Kandi Range. New Mani - Sinful Colors “Blue By You” reminds me of a blue version of China Glaze’s Smoke and Ashes from the Hunger Games Collection - the shimmer is almost flakey :)
Freehand Nail Art. You can tell I am definitely not left handed lol..but fair try methinks! Even the boyfriend commented that both hands were fairly consistent lol.
Base colour is Seventeen Cosmetics “Ball Gown” and used Topshop Nail Art Pen in black. So much better than the WAH! Nails one from Models Own as its a proper hard nib pen rather than a metal nib. You have a lot more control with it too.
Word of advice - TOPCOAT OVER NAILART! I thought I’d be clever and leave it as it is, then I went to wash up and it washed it all off. Boo!
Sinful Colors - “Rise and Shine” - Turquoise/Green Creme with slight shimmer and semi matte/rubber finish. Super bright!
I think this might be my new favourite budget brand. Only recently available in the UK now at £1.99!
