Happy New Year and all that. Once again I’ve been lack with my posts. I will admit I’ve not been doing as many fancy nails as of late, mostly because I don’t have time and have been just sticking to single colours for work etc. The pictures here a mainly a mish mash of my December Holiday Party nails as I am calling them, with an added “what I’m currently wearing” pic at the end:
TOP ROW: Textured Glitter number one which I wore for my work party. Seventeen’s Rock Hard Couture Nail Effects in Cameo Crush. I did apply a top coat, but it still came out pretty textured.
ROW 2: Textured Glitter number two which I wore for a friend’s christmas party. Barry M’s Textured Glitter Effects in Countess. Again applied top coat and this also came out textured still! I think this is definitely my favourite textured glitter.
ROW 3: Nails I wore for Christmas. This was Seventeen’s Glimmer in the Night layered with Max Factor Fantasy Fire. Glimmer in the Night is a dense silver glitter in a clear black base and it applied fully. did 2 coats for full opacity but the second coat was thicker than the first. One coat of Fantasy Fire was applied over the top.
BOTTOM ROW: The two polishes in question for the above. Plus this is currently what I’m sporting. H&M Miss Stone Heart with one coat of China Glaze’s Party Fowl over the top for the feather nail effect. I did try Party Fowl on it owns for a full coverage effect, but I think this method is a lot nicer :)

Primark Spotting Nail paint…not sure if this had a name or not. There were only two shades I could spot, this one was a taupe/grey almost Models Own Utopia esque with small and large hex glitters for the spotty effect, The other a nude with more shinier fragments of glitter. I loved this polish and kept it on for a few good days before it started chipping!

Big random photo dump post of some of the stuff I’ve done on my nails recently. unfortunately some of these were done a while and I can’t remember the polish names off the top of my head :/

From Top Left: Elegant Touch Nail Envy Wraps, Sinful Colours Green/Teal DuoChrome and Seventeen Rock Hard Coutoure Nail Effects in Cameo Crush, Jelly Sandwich with Barry M Limited Edition Summer Neon Green and Sinful Colours Call You Later, Models Own Blooboo with Bora Bora Freehand chevron detail, Nail Polish free with this month’s Company Magazine Red and Grey and some freehand nail art. This was actually my first attempt at freehand and I am quite pleased how it turned out. I need shedloads of practise still but I was proud of myself nonetheless!

Some new China Glaze polishes I bought last week with the last of my vouchers from work. Instead of doing straight up swatches I thought I’d be a bit more…creative I guess :) it also gave me a chance to try out my new Barry M Nail art pen which I bought a while back which I am ridiculously pleased with. Got Shell-O Jelly and Highlight of my Summer Creme from the Sunsational Summer collection and Party Fowl feather effect from the On The Horizon collection.

I used Shell-O as the base for the thumb, pointer and ring finger (3 coats each) and on top of the crappy watermelon attempt I did on the middle nail. Highlight of my Summer was used on the middle finger (3 coats) and Party Fowl was used on the ring finger as an accent nail (3 coats - probably better as 2 thicker coats). Yes I need to improve my leopard print!!

My new current favourite and now what I am currently wearing. Models Own “Absinthe” from the new Velvet Goth collection released last week. a Matte finish slightly textured green glitter with larger bright green hex glitters in a dark green jelly base. perfect coverage in two coats. Also as it dries semi matte it dries super quick which is a massive tick for me as I’m so impatient. I did attempt to cover this with a coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri Anti Chip Top Coat but this is the first time I have actually disliked a glossy finish on a polish. So out came my Models Own Pro Matte top coat to re-mattify it all. Although more matte than the original finish, I am still absolutely in love with this finish.

I am so tempted to buy the inky coloured “Valarian” next after the results of this. In love!
